Our lovely friend SJ had a very special birthday recently, so we
celebrated in style with a ‘Springtime in Paris’ themed dinner party.
Tablescape
Our
table setting was adorned with a fresh spring table runner of ivy,
blossom and florals. Small vases and silver candlesticks added height
across the table, and sage coloured cloth napkins and cute mismatched
vintage side plates completed the look. All of this complemented with
romantic candlelight, because after all, this is Paris!
Menu
For our main food table, along with a
big French flag, a Paris ‘Metro’ lamp post and the obligatory photo of
the Eiffel Tower, French foods were utilised as part of our décor. There
were French cheeses and baguette, and our tiered cake plates were piled
high with macarons and profiteroles. Dinner included French classics
Coq Au Vin and Ratatouille, and of course this was all accompanied by
plenty of French wine. Our favourite of the night was a lovely
Beaujolais.
Entertainment
French
music helped to set the scene, plenty of Edith Piaf, Françoise Hardy
and Serge Gainsbourg. Plus passing the berets around provided a few
laughs!
Bon anniversaire, SJ!
