Menu
We created custom menu cards for the place settings, in keeping with the traditional-dinner-party-gone-wrong theme...
Another birthday, another dinner party! Erin's 36th birthday had to
be something unique, something murderous for our own Halloween Scream
Queen! The decor and menu were inspired by the birthday girl’s favourite
board game Cluedo and were accompanied by a thrilling murder mystery.
Tablescape
The
table was adorned in black and murderous red, with vintage silver
candlesticks and props replicating the murder weapons in the Cluedo
board game; a lead pipe, rope, dagger, revolver, wrench and a
candlestick! Extra red napkins served as a table runner and tied the
centrepiece together with the place settings, the checkered design
emulating the spaces on the Cluedo board. Complete the look with
candlelight, a few roses and a scattering of Cluedo game cards and you
have yourself a pretty awesome tablescape.
Erin had always wanted to hold a proper murder mystery party, and so
we searched Pinterest for ideas and came across a fantastic game which
is available to download for free here.
The game was simple to set up and very inexpensive! We just bought some
manila folders, printed out the game pages and added some
embellishments. Each dinner guest was assigned a character, given their
dossier, and the game was afoot! We all had a blast and one of us even
guessed whodunnit!
This
murder mystery dinner party was one of our most enjoyable dinner
parties to date. The only question left is when are you going to host
your murder mystery party? oh and was it Colonel Mustard in the Library
with the candlestick?
Happiest of birthdays to my sister/best friend....you don't look a day over 36
